Whole-body MRI: the full picture, honestly.
One visit, head to pelvis, no radiation. A whole-body MRI can pick up some problems early, and it can also find harmless changes that need more tests. Here are both sides before you decide.

Benefits and limits
Find some problems early
Such as some tumours, aneurysms, or kidney and liver changes, before symptoms appear.
Finds harmless changes
Small cysts, nodules and age-related changes are common. Some need follow-up scans to be sure, which can cause worry and cost.
Been shown to extend life
Studies have not shown that scanning healthy people this way helps them live longer. It does not replace NHS screening.
Who it suits
- People who want a broad baseline and understand the trade-offs
- People with a specific worry that a GP assessment shows a scan could help with
- Those combining it with an evidence-based health assessment from Northwest Health
Before booking, your GP will talk through what you want to know, any implants or devices, and how findings would be handled.
