Home · Joint MRI
Joint MRI for injuries that won't settle.
From a twisted knee at five-a-side to a sore shoulder at the gym, MRI shows ligaments, tendons, cartilage and bone clearly, so you know whether to rest, rehab or see a specialist.

Areas we scan
Meniscus (cartilage) tears, ligament injuries such as the ACL, kneecap problems and bone bruising.
Rotator cuff tears, impingement, dislocation damage and frozen shoulder questions.
Groin and hip pain, labral tears, tendon problems and early arthritis.
Ligament injuries after a sprain, Achilles tendon problems and stress fractures.
Ligament injuries, hidden fractures and persistent pain after a fall.
Tendon injuries and persistent pain that hasn't responded to treatment.

When to get a joint scanned
- Sports injuries where you need to know whether it's safe to train
- Locking, giving way or swelling in a joint
- Pain that hasn't settled after a few weeks of rest or physiotherapy
- Planning surgery or injections with a specialist
Many joint scans take around 20 to 30 minutes, and for knee, ankle and foot scans you usually go into the scanner feet first, with your head outside.
What happens next
Your GP explains the report and agrees a plan with you. That might be physiotherapy, a sports medicine or orthopaedic opinion, or simply reassurance that you can return to activity safely. Our team includes an advanced practice physiotherapist and MSK sonographer.
For London's runners, players and gym-goers
Whether you play Sunday league, train for a marathon or lift at the gym, an injury that isn't settling deserves a clear answer. A GP assesses you by phone or video, then we book your scan at a partner centre near you in London.
If the scan shows you need rehab or a specialist opinion, your GP can point you to the right service close to home.
